STATEMENT

My work is an artistic and emotional exploration of motherhood, viewed from a contemporary, feminine perspective. Through colors, textures, and symbols, I seek to transmute emotions and feelings linked to birth, caregiving, and the invisible marks this process leaves on women and their communities. My research combines ethnographic observation and personal narratives from women in my community, revealing how motherhood is not only an intimate act but also a space traversed by social burdens, grief, and interpersonal relationships. Each piece becomes a bridge between the everyday and the universal: a way to reveal the strength and sensitivity surrounding the experience of giving life. In my works, a woman's experience opens up so that others can recognize fragments of their own story. Thus, each creation invites the viewer to find themselves in the experience of another, generating a dialogue that is both intimate and collective.

BIO

Julieth is the third of four children, and was born in Medellín, Colombia, in the last century. She has been painting, drawing, and creating for as long as she can remember. She also enjoys theater and writing. She is the mother of a child born in 2017, a lifelong student, a traveler, and a curious soul.

Master in visual arts from the Bellas Artes University Foundation, professional in business administration from CEIPA Business School and technician in marketing and advertising from the Institute of Arts.
